Olympic lunch

 Just back from a lunch at the Chancery Court hotel, seeing how the bank has entertained guests during the Olympic. I got to pose with Bente's torch from the torch relay!

Olympic day out 2 - The Handball game

Siv and I only stayed for the first game this time, Norway's disappointing 25-20 loss to Spain, as it was a Sunday and a potentially very late journey home if we left at the same time as the 80,000 people leaving the Olympic stadium from seeing Usain Bolt win the 100 metre final! Before the game NRK commentator Mia Hundvin looked pensive - and rightly so! Despite this the crowd all had a great time joining in with the fun and games at the Copperbox.

Olympic day out 2 - Brasserie

Rather than face huge queues at the food outlets, this week we decided to be a bit more civilized and sit down in the brasserie for dinner which was a lot more relaxing!

Olympic day out 2 - The Park

It was a lot more busy this week at the Olympic Park, especially around the Park Live area and the TV screens. However it was still possible to get away to see some music at the Bandstand on River lawns or even see some wildlife like Dragonflies in some of the ponds, just a short distance from the Olympic village.

Day out in Leigh on Sea

Helen, Mark and Alex were staying with Fi and Grae, plus Littlebeard was up visiting, so we took a trip down to Old Leigh for a few drinks outside the Crooked Billet, before heading back to Fi and Grae's for something to eat as well as enjoying more Olympic action on 'Super Saturday'

Olympic day out - The Copperbox handball arena

At 7.00pm we went into the Copperbox arena to watch the Handball. We saw Great Britain lose to Montenegro 31 - 19 and Norway unfortunately lose to France 24 - 23, which was a bit of a shock! The arena is great, and we had very good seats...just a shame about the results. Hoping for better results over the next week!

Olympic day out - The Park

Its finally here, the Olympics have finally arrived. Siv and I headed to Stratford to spend some time in the Olympic Park before the evening's Handball games. The Park is very large in size, and has lots of very nice planted areas to get away from the hustle and bustle.
