Feast of St. George

I went to Central London, to see The Feast of St. George in Trafalgar Square. A lot of food and drink stalls, with brass bands and women on stilts waving flags....rather unusual! From there I walked through St. James's Park, Westminster and onto The South Bank (where there were lots of screens showing the Shakespeare 400 event), eventually making back to St. Pauls to take some photos from the roof terrace of 1 New Change.

I took a lot of photos, a selection are below, the rest are here:

Up town photographing The Gherkin

Today Frankie sent us a message asking for some photos of The Gherkin with reflections of adjacent buildings. So we jumped on the tube and headed up town to take some photos that fit what she wanted. They didn't come out too bad, the whole album of 'arty' shots is here:

Day out in Southend and Old Leigh

Nina has been over visiting Siv for a few days while they went on a training course. On Saturday, we took the train down to Southend, and went out to the end of the Pier on the little train.
After walking around in the chilly weather at the end of the Pier, we headed back, and got a taxi to Old Leigh to meet up with some of the others at The Crooked Billet. The sun came out a bit and the pub put the outdoor heaters on, so we were able to stay outside for a while until we moved on to Ye Olde Smack for some food before heading home again on the train.
A few photographs are below, the rest are here:

Trip over Valentine's Park

We took a trip over Valentine's Park today for a walk in the Spring sunshine, seeing some of the new duck and goose chicks that have hatched recently. We went for lunch at the Gardener's Cottage Cafe, sitting outside for the first time this year, before having a look at the birds in the aviary and then heading home.
