Two years since the Olympics, and the Olympic park is now re-opened as The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. As it was a sunny day, I thought I'd take a stroll around to see what it's like, and see how the progress for West Ham United's new ground is going. A very hot day meant that lots of people were taking the opportunity to cool down in the water fountains. I took a lot of photos, a selection are below, but the rest are here:

Weekend in Ely
Just back from a weekend in Ely visiting Caroline and the girls. We arrived on Friday afternoon for the opening of Cafe Ely, the Cafe in Spa Ely, before going over the road for a very nice meal at The Royal Standard.
On Saturday, we had an invitation to a 60th Birthday party out in the Country near Newmarket, courtesy of Caroline's friend Ian who was drumming in the Birthday boy's band (Granite - Old, grey, rock!). A great evening with a marvellous location and food, and lots of fun dancing to some old tunes.
On Sunday, Ian cooked us all a great breakfast, before we headed home. A selection of photos are below, but all of them are here:

A few garden photos
Just a few photos from this morning...the squirrel resting on our fence, and rain droplets on the fig tree's leaves.

Family round for my Birthday
To celebrate my birthday yesterday, we had the family round for dinner. As it was a still humid day we were able to sit in the garden. Unfortunately this weather also told all the ants it was time to leave the next, so for an hour or so there was a swarm of flying ants.

In the garden
Been out in the garden today, and took some photos including this inquisitive robin check that kept hopping around us.
