Sarasota Beach

As ever, the beach at
Lido Key was great as was the hotel, the Helmsley Sandcastle, though the beach was a little eroded over the years! While we were there, we experienced a record low temperature for October, it went down to 44f - Brrr!!

Chilly on the beach

Its Lloyd!!

I had to help refloat this boat that broke anchor and run aground.

Here you can see how the beach from our hotel has drifted down the coast, as it looks like we were walking in the water!

Go Phillies!

Finally! Its taken a long time, but the Phillies have won The World Series again. The Walsh family were there on the classic night and there was a parade on the Friday that around 2 million people attended, including Rick and family and The Ronster - What a day it was! Sadly Siv and I were unable to attend as we were still in Tampa, where my Phillies T-Shirt made me popular!
Rick and Ron soak up the atmosphere.

Official Baseball!

Oh dear....

The Walsh family attend the game!

Sorry Tampa Bay...not that we're gloating...

Sarasota amimals

This year, in addition to
Raccoons which we'd seen before, we also managed to see Dolphins playing and Manatees grazing.

Two dragonflies fighting, the blue one eventually decapitated the green one below, which is either 'Gross' or 'Awesome' depending on which American you speak to!

Philly, Sunday in South Street

On Sunday, Liz and Rick had to go to a Christening, so Siv and I took the Monte Carlo down to South Street for a walk around. While there we witnessed a fire, which some of Philly's finest attended.
