2 Tone Forever Ska Festival

A group of us went to the 2 Tone Forever festival at Garon Park in Southend. A great day out in good weather seeing some old Ska bands. We started off at The Railway hotel, before Bernie was kind enough to ferry the rest of us to the venue. A few photos of  the day below, the rest are here:

Jersey Tiger moth in the garden

I spotted this Jersey Tiger moth in the garden. Quite rare as apparently none were seen in London before 2004.

Working in the garden

After the wet winter, we had  a bit of a leak in the shed, so today, while Siv painted the inside, I painted the roof with afibre/bitumen paint and exterior filler to try and make the roof water tight. A second coat covering the entire roof will go on after the fist layer has cured.

RAF 100th Anniversary flypast

Today there was a flypast over London to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the RAF. Unfortunately the route was a bit vague specifying 'City of London'....but with all the big buildings a lot of people missed it all....I managed a few shots from some streets away!

Fairlop Fair

We went over Fairlop Waters to see the Fairlop Fair. A fun day out on a very hot day. A lot of people seemed to disappear around 3.00pm to watch the England v Sweden game on TV! A few photos are below, the rest are here:

Trip to Mo i Rana

We're just back from a week in Mo i Rana with Siv, Olav and PK. Quite a social week with Onkel and Inger driving down as well as Ket and Sigbjørn coming down as well. The weather wasn't too great when we arrived (raining and 9c), but by Friday it improved until it was 27c on Monday!

We spent most of the tie down at the cabin going fishing (where I caught a Cod and a Haddock), making trips to town for shopping when needed.

On Saturday, we went to the Hemnesberget Boat and Fjord festival during the day, where there were games like making improvised boats to go down a slide and reach a bell. In the evening we went back for a concert by D.D.E. which was good fun. A video at the bottom shows a couple of clips, plus a quick hyperlapse tour around the cabin.
