Lunch with Mum at The Windmill

We took Mum out for Sunday Lunch at The Windmill. We all had the Roast Turkey dinner which was very pleasant. On the way home we stopped at Coffee Co for a coffee and a bit of cake.

 

Day out in Greenwich with Liv and Richard

We had a pleasant day out in Greenwich with Liv and Richard. As these was no DLR running, we took the Jubilee line to North Greenwich and had a walk around the O2 and had a couple of drinks in The Stargazer. We then caught a bus into Greenwich itself for a lunch at Noodle Time. After a walk around Greenwich and a couple of more drinks we headed to Island Gardens via the Foot Tunnel to get a bus to Mile End and come home.

 

Weekend walk through Mile End and Roman Road

This weekend's weather wasn't predicted to be that good, so we set out early on Saturday for breakfast at The Coffee Room in Mile End before walking through Mile End Park and onto the Regent's Canal. At the end of Victoria Park on the Canal, we headed into the Park walking past the Burdett Coutts Drinking Fountain. We then headed back towards Mile End via Roman Road Market, where we stopped for lunch at Cafe Creme. By now the rain was starting, so we headed home on the 425 bus to Ilford, popping into Jono's for a quick drink before getting the bus home.

 

Afternoon in Old Leigh

We spent a pleasant afternoon at The Crooked Billet in Old Leigh with Mill and Katy and some of the rest of the gang, before they head back to Canada.

 

Birthday lunch in Tarantino's

We went out for a slightly delayed Birthday lunch at Tarantino's in Hornchurch with the family. It was a very pleasant afternoon, with a lot of chatting and food!

 

Weekend in Copenhagen for my 60th Birthday

We’re just back from a busy weekend in Copenhagen for my 60^th. We stayed with Jan and Pia in Vanløse, and after a relaxing dinner Saturday night, on Sunday we headed into town visiting Christiania and Nyhavn.

On Monday, while Jan worked we took the metro to Frederiksberg for a wander round, though the weather cut that short and we had to stop to have a coffee and croissant in Meyers Bakery before heading home. That evening, Jan’s children and grandchildren came round for a dinner.

On Tuesday, Jan and Pia made me a Birthday breakfast, and we sat around chatting until we headed to Parken to see Bruce Springsteen in concert. We got home quite late and spent Wednesday chatting before heading to the airport and coming home. A few photos are below, the rest are here:
