Motörhead, The Damned and Girlschool at the Cliffs Pavillion

10 of us went to the Cliffs Pavillion in Westcliff to see Motörhead, supported by The Damned and Girlschool.

After a couple of drinks in the bar, we watched Girlschool do a 30 minute set, then after a short break The Damned came on and did a storming 45 minutes. A few of us piled down the front 'mosh' area for the final song of 'Smash it up', which was lively but good natured. Captain Sensible carried on playing after the rest of the band had left, and was eventually carried off by a roadie endeavoring to keep to the tight schedule for Motörhead to do their set!

After about 30 minutes or re-organising Motörhead came on to the tradional "we're Motörhead and we play rock 'n' roll!" by Lemmy. After that was about 90 minutes of very heavy metal, including one of the longest drum solos I've ever seen (the film below has 4 minutes, which is about half of it!).

All in all a good night out!
Down in the mosh pit for 'Smash it Up' by The Damned.
Captain Sensible gets his marching orders, and is carried away when he doesn't stop playing!
