West Ham v Sunderland

We took a trip up to Sunderland to see West Ham play. After an early start (6.30am at Upminster station), we had the long (nearly 5 hours) drive up to there.

We met in The Lambton Worm pub (named after THIS legend) before the game, before heading off in the increasingly bad weather to the game. Of course, West Ham lost in the 96th minute, but we weren't going to let that ruin our evening, and spent the night trying to dodge the rain going from one bar to another. Sunderland seems to be a lively night out!

The Sunderland Empire, Sid James died on stage here.

Gerkin and the boys!

Roger and Jason watch the replays

Ah, Tequila time...what a good idea - NOT!

"I know, its only Rock and Roll...."

Due to rather draconian stewards at Sunderland (no photos during the game, lots of people thrown out for standing etc.) I wasn't able to get any pictures or videos of the ground, just a bit of half time footage in the bar...at least it wasn't raining there! Plus, towards the end of the night when you fancy something to eat, where else would you go except a chippy that thinks its a nightclub!!
