Hyde Park Concert

We had Franky and Scarley staying with us for the weekend, so we took a half day to go to the British Summer Time concert that had become a free concert due to Elton John being ill. We met up at lunchtime, in time to have lunch at Selfridges before moving onto Hyde Park, where we spent the afternoon wandering around the huge site watching some of the acts, with the girls going on the Merry go Round, and Scarley doing a 'piece to camera'.

We moved a bit further to the front in time for Gabrielle Aplin's set, before heading off home as it was starting to get VERY busy by that time.

50th Birthday announcement

Its a Doctor Who theme for my annual Birthday cake announcement at work, as all Whovians know, its a 50th for him this year as well. Also, my desk has had a sspecial makeover this morning,,,,

Fairlop Fair

Siv and I took a trip over to Fairlop Fair in the sun, wandering around the food stalls and listening to music and watching some of the acts like fire eaters.

Finally a touch of summer

A welcome warm spell allowed us to sit out in the garden today into the evening.

Gladys and Adam's wedding vows renewal

We went to All Saints Church in Woodford, to attend the ceremony of our Zumba teacher Gladys and her husband Adam renewing their wedding vows after 10 years. A fun day out with a number of people from Zumba going along, and some exuberant dancing!

Burying June's ashes

We had a small ceremony on Friday to bury June's ashes, in a final goodbye. We had it at St. Paul's in Covent Garden (known as the actor's church), in a very peaceful corner of their gardens.

As it was a sunny Bank Holiday for once...we took a walk over to Fairlop Waters, the countryside looking very nice in the sun, and we saw our new friends the Goldfinches again before we left.
