Trip to Bishop's Stortford to see Hornchurch play

A good day out today away at Bishop's Stortford seeing Hornchurch play. Some of us took the train while others went on a rented coach, but a good turn out and Hornchurch won!

Siv's trip to Birmingham

Siv met up with Anne and Fi at Euston to take the train up to Birmingham for a lunch with Trudie and Woodsy who had travelled there separately. A Prosecco Breakfast on the train followed by some drinks in the Cosy Club before lunch at Rudy's, before travelling home.

Trip to Copenhagen to see Keane

We're just back from a weekend in Copenhagen to see Keane. We arrived Friday night at the Comfort Hotel Vesterbro for 3 nights. On Saturday we took a trip down Strøget down to Nyhavn, and we were able to sit out in some winter sunshine and enjoy a drink or two outside Klods Hans (Named after the Andersen fairy tale) After some further walking we headed to the Tivoli as it got dark, to see the Winter Wonderland show there, after which we headed back to the hotel.

On Sunday, with storm Ciara approaching, we headed out in blustery conditions, walking over the Inderhavnsbroen bridge, and walked into Christianshavn...making it back to the hotel just as the real heavy rain started. In the evening we had to take a taxi to Vega to see Keane, who put on a great 2 hour set.

On Monday, we still had enough time to do the same walk as the Sunday (stopping for cake and coffee at the Nyhavn Bakery and Cafe), but also take in the 'Round Tower' and the Royal gardens, before finally heading home. A few photos are below, the rest are here:

Walk over Fairlop Waters

The sunny, chilly weekend continued today, allowing us to go out for a long walk over Fairlop Waters and into Barkingside for lunch, as well as stopping off in Fairlop at The Boat House for a coffee outside in the sun.

Trip to see West Ham v Everton

Trudie was in town for her brother’s 60th Birthday. Paul gave her his ticket for the West Ham v Everton game, which was a rather drab draw.

Trip to see Hornchurch FC play Aveley

I went with Russell to watch Hornchurch FC play Avelry in the FA Trophy. A cold windy day which ended with Hornchurch losing. We stopped off in The Hop Inn for a pint to warm up walking bacvk to Gidea Park!

Walk over Fairlop Waters

We went for a walk over Fairlop this morning to get some fresh air....nice to get out, even if the scenery is a bit bleak this time of year.

Trip to see AFC Hornchurch play Horsham

I went with Russell to watch Hornchurch play Horsham. A fun day out, and good to see Hornchurch win 2-1!
