Long walk through Forest Gate and Manor Park

We went for a long walk through Foirest Gate and Manor Park today. We started off with breakfast at The Wild Goose Bakery, before walking on to Manor Park and stopping for a coffee and a cinnamon bun at The Ramble Cafe before buying some plants at The Flower Cabin. heading back, to Wanstead Flats we stopped off for a drink at The Holly Tree before getting a bus home.

 

Day out in London with Grae, Roger, John and Ironbeard

I met up with Grae, Roger, John and Ironbeard for Pie and Mash in Manze's before a wander around some pubs in South London on a very warm an pleasant Saturday.

Hornchurch v Cray Wanderers play off match

I met up with Gerkin, Mick and Ironbeard at The Upminster Tap before going on to Hornchurch to see the Promotion play off game against Cray Wanderers....a long night as it went to penalties meaning a late arrival getting home!

 

Walk over Wanstead Park to see the Bluebells

We headed to Wanstead for Breakfast in City Place before walking over to Chalet Wood to see the Bluebells in all their glory. Walking home we stopped for an Ice Cream at the tea hut before coming home and doing some gardening (closely watched by a Robin).

 

Weekend with Siw, Olav and PK

We've had Siw, Olav and PK staying for a long weekend. 

On Friday we dodged the showers for a trip into Romford, before having a Chinese takeaway for dinner from Friendship. 

On Saturday, Siv and Siw went shopping in Westfield Stratford, while I took Olav and PK to The Upminster Taproom before watching Hornchurch beat Bowers and Pitsea before we had dinner at The George in Wanstead..

On Sunday after a bit of shopping we had dinner at the King George V in Gants Hill before taking them to see Elton John at The O2 while Siv and I waited.

On Monday we went for a walk along the Regent's Canal from Camden to Islington stopping for lunch at Americano before having a pizza dinner at The Three Johns before heading off to Pudding Mill Lane to see the ABBA Voyage show.

 

Sparrowhawk in the garden

I was surprised this morning to go to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and see a Sparrowhawk casually sitting on the garden fence.

 

Manor Park train arches walk

Foir the best day of the Easter weekend, we headed to Manor Park for a late breakfast at Tracks, before heading on to explore some of the other small places that have now opened up under the arches in the Manor Park / Forest Gate area, such as the Wild Goose Bakery.. We headed further along Wanstead Flats before stopping for a drink in the sun outside The North Star in Leytonstone.

Day out at Hornchurch v Billericay Town

A large group of us went to Hornchurch to watch them play Billericay Town, which they managed to scrape a 1-0 win over.

Meanwhile, Siv and Mum headed into Romford for some lunch and a bit of shopping

Mile End Park walk up to Victoria Park

On Good Friday we headed to Mile End to Walk through Mile End Park and up to Victoria Park (where we stopped for coffee and cake at The Hub). On the way Back we walked along the Regent's Canal down to Limehouse Basin. Before heading home we stopped for a drink at 'old School' Palm Tree pub.
