We're just back from a pleasant weekend in Gjøvik, visiting Eli, Jan and the family. A very nice time catching up on things, and getting out and about enjoying a bit of late summer sunshine. A few photos are below, the rest are here:

West Ham v Bournemouth
It was West Ham's first game at their new home ground, the Olympic Stadium. A rather uninspiring game against Bournemouth that was at least a win, 1-0. As it was the first game and sunny, I took more photos than usual, a few are below, the rest are here:

Trip over the Olympic Park with Karin and Eirik
With Karin and Eirik visiting, we went over to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to have a go on The Slide....which is very fast! Afterwards, we went on a walk around the park. While Karin and Eirik headed up town, we went on a boat trip down the river which was nice to see the park from a different angle. a few photos are below, the rest are here:

Frankie and Scarley staying with us for the weekend - Trip over Valentine's Park
On Sunday we took a trip over Valentine's Park to feed the squirrels and have an ice cream before having a late lunch at the Gardeners Cottage Cafe, which was very busy due to the Redbridge Music Lounge performing there.

Frankie and Scarley staying with us for the weekend - Trip up London
Making the most of some decent weather, we went up to London for a walk along the South Bank from Waterloo to Tower Bridge taking in a lot of the sights along the way. The tide of the Thames was so low we were able to walk along the edges of the river bank for quite some distance, even under some bridges.
