Thanksgiving weekend with James and Karin

Siv and I travelled to Kirton to see James, Karin, Nori and Eirik for a belated Thanksgiving dinner. Good to catch up with them all again!

Meeting up with the old Chase Manhattan crowd

I was able to attend the annual Chase Manhattan Xmas get together this year at The Old Doctor Butler's Head, it was good to see a lot of familiar old faces again!

Poppy from the Tower of London

The poppy we ordered from the Tower of London arrived today with its certificate of authenticity, booklet and presentation box.

England v Samoa at Twickenham

A group of us went to Twickenham to watch England play Samoa at Rugby. We met up at The Crosse Keys for breakfast, before heading off to The Hole in the Wall at Waterloo. From there we moved on to The White Cross in Richmond, before a walk to the ground. Not a great game, even though England won....then a walk back to Richmond and a train back to Waterloo and a quick drink back in The hole in the Wall before heading home.

There's no elegant way to eat a Twickenham pie!

Trip to London

Siv and I took a small pre-Xmas trip into London on a nice sunny Autumn day. We stopped for lunch and did some food shopping at The Scandinavian Kitchen. We then headed on to look around the Xmas shop at Liberty, before winding our way through Soho and stopping off for a coffee at Caffe Latte Soho before heading home.

Wreath laying ceremony at West Ham

Before the West Ham v Aston Villa game today, there was a wreath laying ceremony followed by a minute's silence for remembrance day.

Full Moon on Bonfire night

A Full moon out for bonfire night tonight...managed to take this with a bit of a Frankenstein setup on the Nex6: Nex to Minolta adaptor, Tokina 70-300 Minolta fit lens and a 1.7x teleconverter! Taken at F11, 1/200 sec, ISO 200.

Roll of Honour for William Boyling

Russell and I went down to the Tower of London to see the poppies, and to hear Nanny Grace's brother's name William Boyling, who died in 1918, read out in the Roll of Honour.

Anders' 60th Birthday dinner

We met up with Anders, Laila and Lisa to celebrate Anders' 60th Birthday at the Maze Grill restaurant. Also there were his children and their partners, as it had all been part of a surprise weekend away in London for him that started on Friday.
