With Frankie and Scarlet visiting, we took a trip over to Valentine's Park. There were some unusual birds there such as Egyptian Geese, and a Jay. Though most fun was had feeding the squirrels, who got so exited they strted jumping up the girls legs.
We went round to see Grace for some early 18th Birthday celebrations (her Birthday's on Friday). It took a couple of goes to take the photo of blowing out the candles!
Just back from a trip with work to Geilo. It was a pleasant couple of days, including some team building stuff...outide...in the rain...However, the hotel, Dr. Holms, was excellent. I managed to take a couple of dramatic photos over the mountains heading back to Bergen to fly home.
Its been a bit of an eating extravaganza. First night was the seafood platter at Carl's Brasserie. For lunch the next day was the 6 sausage, sauerkraut and boiled potato feast at friesenkeller. Finally today it was the 30cm monster (with flags) at Ständige Vertretung. Phew!
Been visiting the bank branch in Hamburg with Laurie. A bit chilly, but seen a bit of the City, including the impressive Town Hall, including a trip round the office building on the never ending paternoster lifts which are quite a rarity now.
Just back from the Isle of Wight celebrating Ian and Paul's 50th Birthdays. We stayed at a The Wight Mouse Inn in Chale. On Friday, we went for a walk in increasing amounts of rain from The Chequers Inn in Rookley. On Saturday, we took some hired bikes to Brightwell and Shorwell for a day out in pleasant sunshine (stopping at the Sun Inn at Hulverstone, and the Crown Inn at Shorwell).
In the evening we got a bus to Ventnor, watching West Ham lose to Arsenal at The Blenheim, before a few pints in The Crab and Lobster. Finally we had a curry in the (now renamed) Chutney Express. By the time we finished, it was so difficult to get taxis that the Curry House owner and two of his friends gave us a lift back to Chale! All the photos are here:
