DNB Boat Trip down The Thames

Had a very nice Sports and Social night out with DNB on a boat trip up and down the Thames. The weather could have been a bit better, but at least the wind dropped and it didn't rain! A lot of the riverside was dressed up for the diamond jubilee this weekend. We even went under Tower Bridge as it closed.

Light on The Shard

This isn't photoshopped, my boss Eivind was walking over London Bridge today, and there was a bit of mist still in the air. The sun reflecting off of The Shard created this dramatic effect!

Handball tickets have arrived!

Finally the tickets for the Women's Handball in The Copper Box at the Olympics have arrived. Still no idea who we'll see play, as the draw isn't till next Wednesday.

Weekend in the garden

With this weekend's hot weather, we've spent both days gardening as well as painting the 'annexe' down the bottom of the garden. It took 3 coats of paint of Butinox 2 from Nordic Wood (B004 - Ivory and B009 - Stone) to totally cover the wood.

Wembley 2012 playoff final

We all had a day out at Wembley for the 2012 Championship playoff final between Blackpool and West Ham. We met up early at The Allsop Arms, which was very busy, before heading onto The Wood. After this we got the train from Marylebone to Wembley Stadium mainline train station, before the short walk to the stadium.We were in the Club Wembley section, which made for a slightly more civilised experience!

Luckily West Ham got the result they wanted, and will be back in the Premiership next season. After the game and all of the celebrations in the ground, we headed back to The Spotted Dog in Barking for a few drinks, as everything around Marylebone and Liverpool Street had been closed by the police due to over enthusiastic supporters earlier in the day! All in all, a good day out.

Birthday lunch at The Olde Dog

To celebrate Mum's Birthday yesterday and Russell's today, we went for a Birthday lunch at The Olde Dog in Herongate. The portions were very impressive (see Dad's whitebait 'starter' and the monster Yorkshire pudding Mum got). We eventually headed back to Mum and Dad's to hand out the presents, and Russell gave us a couple of bottles of Sloe Gin, a 2009 vintage and a newly bottled 2011 vintage.

Cutting the grass

After about 5 weeks of solid rain, we were finally able to get out and do some gardening...the grass took ages as it had got so long!!

Trip to see Cathrine, Ståle and Hedda

I took a trip out to see Cathrine, Ståle and Hedda tonight for dinner. Ingvild, Markus, Leif and Solveig also popped by. Hedda tried her hand at making ice cream!

Trip to Eva and Ole's

Siv and I took a trip over to Eva and Ole's. I had a go on Ole's Fastrac 'monster truck' (those tyres are about 5 feet in diameter), as well as seeing the graveyard for old Tractors across the road.

Trip to Terje, May-Britt and Selia

Siv and I took a trip out to see Terje, May-Britt and Selia today. It was hard work keeping up with Selia on the Wii!!
