Trip to Tornes

We took a trip out to see Marina and Magne and the boys (Tonje was out)...Dennis and Benjamin have certainly grown!!

Visit by Katrine, Ronny and Sanne

Katrine, Ronny and Sanne popped in to see us. Sanne has grown up a lot since I last saw her!

Ohoi! Girlie night out in Fraena

I tagged along with Siv when she met up with her Girlie friends at Cafe Gossip.

On the way home we popped in to see Eli, who was doing the graveyard shift at Fraena Taxi.

Work at Siv's flat, and her Mum's Garage

Siv's Mum's garage has a sloping roof that points down over the entrance, and consequently its like a wall of water coming down when it rains. So after a few shoping trips to Bjggkjop, we got some wood, guttering etc. which I was able to eventually put up (see before and after photos below).

Meanwhile in Siv's flat, work is progressing (compared to last time), with the battoning and electrics having been run through. It now needs the insulation, panelling and flooring to be done before the electicians from HTL can come back and connect up the power points.

Trip to May Britt, Terje and Selia

We took a drive out to see May Britt, Terje and Selia (who's just started school!). We had a very nice dinner with them, and then sat around chatting for a few hours. Terje and I discussed things like new TV's etc., and you can see May Britt's reaction when we suggested getting an LG 60" Plasma TV for the loft 'cinema' room :-)

We took a drive out to Marie's house at Farstad, and spent a few hours chatting. The video is from earlier in the day at Eli's brother Arild's garden centre at Malmefjorden.

Trip into Elnesvågen

We wentin to town and bought 3 bikes at Europris (a bargain a 999Kr each), and had a coffee outside Cafe Gossip.

Fraena Run, and working on the house

I went for a run in the Morning, out to the Tine Dairy and back (see the GPS route below). After this, we started work on Siv's Mum's barden. First we laid some stone edging where stones have been placed after the drainage excavation. Next we put down some topsoil and sowed some grass seed. It was a very warm day, so nice to be working outside.

Sunday with Trish and Welski

On Sunday, we initially woke up to wet and windy conditions, so we all sat around the house, eating breakfast and watching the Olympics. However, by lunchtime it became obvious the afternoon was going to be very good. So we drove to Walton and went up the Naze Tower for some stunning views. After this we took a drive through Frinton, before ending up on Clacton Seafront eating fish and chips. All in all a very pleasant end to a lovely weekend.

After Saturday's West Ham game, Siv and I drove down to Welski's to see him and Trish. Trish made a fantastic dinner, after which we sat around chatting (though Siv and Trish did have a little snooze) until the early hours. And who would have known a UV light could be so much fun!!!

On Sunday, we met up with Inger Lise, Bilal and Rudi (and got to see their dog Tara), at their house in Ekeberg. We hadn't seen them for 18 months, so it was good to see them again. Bilal made some very nice food for all of us, and we listened to Rudi drumming...he's very good and in a band - Xplosion.

Later, Siv and I got the bus home, as I sadly had an early start travelling to Stockholm on Monday morning, so couldn't be out TOO late!

I had to have meetings in Stockholm and Oslo this week, so Siv and I took the chance to spend the weekend in Oslo. On Friday and Saturday, we caught up with Siv's family, and of course, all the attention was on the new addition Hedda.

On Saturday evening, Jose did a barbecue for us all including some visitors from Madeira. We also got the chance to see Magica, who's not the small cute thing she was! She's good natured, but very high spirited and big now, and still only 7 months!!

Day out at London Zoo

Siv and I met Jo, Jonathan and Daniel up at London Zoo. And despite some rather heavy downpours of rain during the day, we had a great time. After a long day (and about 12km walking), we headed back towards Camden and had dinner in Strada, before heading home. ALL the photos I took during the day are available here:
