Went for a bit of a jog around the park to try and get back into it after a while off, plus to test out the logging of the 205.

Navigation Test

Siv is Getting me a Garmin Forerunner 205 for my birthday (a little early I know, as I want to use it on PJ's 40th bithday walk in Mid-June).

Due to attrocious weekend weather, the first test I was able to perform was IN A CAR driving to Ikea Lakeside.

I uploaded the data from the device to the Motion based website and got the above map (it overlays your route onto Google maps)...So it seems pretty accurate, tracking me down the A12, A127 and M25, and the statistics on the website are extremely detailed.

I've now added a google map view embedded from www.everytrail.com

Bank Holiday Weekend

Its a holiday weekend here in the UK, and as you might expect, the weather is pretty bad! Fortunately Saturday was OK giving Siv and I a chance to get out and do some gardening, as well as seeing how some of the plants are coming on.

Bye Bye Kev!!

A group of us met at The Guinea Grill in Mayfair last night to see off Kev (and Carole and George of course), before they leave for Australia on 7th July. Having known Kev since I was 9, its going to be strange with him not around! Other topics discussed included PJ's upcoming 40th birthday and what food we were going to order....No Dave, we're not ordering chilli peppers!

Mum and Russell's Birthday

To celebrate Mum and Russell's birthdays earlier this week, we all went out for lunch..

Hytte trip part 1 - Selnes

We set off to Selnes on Thursday night, and had a few relaxing days there. Even though the weather wasn't too kind, we managed to fit quite a few things in, visiting Konsvikosen ("Kosikosen"), as well as fitting in a fishing trip. Concert at Mo Church

Tonight, it was back to Mo Church, for a concert by PK's music group.

We took a small trip to Dalselv to pick up a few bits for the hytte trip tomorrow.

After an early breakfast, we checked out of our hotel, the Meyergården hotel, and went to PK's confirmation. After the confirmation, we headed off for a dinner with lots of friends and family, where cousin Siw gave a good speech introducing all of the guests to each other.

Arrived in Mo i Rana
