Toronto - Rock Band!

A couple of evenings were spent playing Rock Band, which is good fun, but a lot harded than it looks, especially the drumming! Eddie and William of course were far better than the rest of us! All our Toronto holiday photos are here:

Toronto - At home with Mill, Katy and the boys

Great to catch up with Mill, Katy, Eddie and William again after a long time! Were were fortunate to have great weather most of the time during our stay with them, so quite a bit of time was spent in the garden and playing in the pool (the water was a bracing 72f). We went out for some walks and meals, and generally spent time catching up. the behaviour of their two guinea pigs (Kylie and Lauren) was entertaining, as they've learned to grab people's attention when their hungry by nibbling the bars to their cage to make a noise. A real couple of characters. All our toronto holiday photos are here:

The bedroom is finished!

After a few weeks having moved out from the bedroom for re-decoration, we've finally moved back in! Earlier today, Scott and Keren from Radical Forgings came and fitted the new curtain pole. Not a big thing you'd think, but in an English bay window, there's not many solutions for putting up curtains if you don't want a plastic track!
An experimental panarama shot of the bedroom as it is.

A 'worm's eye' view of the pole running across the bay window.

Family lunch

To celebrate Mum and Russell's Birthday's earlier in the week, we all went out to Ask in Hornchurch for an Italian meal. As it was 17th of May, Siv took her Norwegian flag along with her. When the dessets were served up, Mum and Russell's came with a candle in the top....I didn't manage to catch the staff singing Happy Birthday unfortunately!

Afterwards, we went back to Russel and Maureen's for a cup of tea, where Millie was pleased to see everyone!

Day out in London

Siv met up with Fi and Anne at the Oxo Tower, so I went for a bit of a wander around London, trying out a few shots and Videos on my new Panasonic TZ7 in between the wind and rain showers! After getting a bit soaked I headed off to the nearest Odeon and saw the new Star Trek film. Later in the evening we got home for Siv to cheer on Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest, which Norway won with Fairytale!

West Ham v Liverpool

Went with Paul, Ironbeard and John Lewis to the Liverpool game. Sadly it was rather 'men against boys' and the quality of Gerrard, Torres and Co. was just too good for West Ham.

DnB get together

I went to The New Moon, to meet up with Nic Spicer (missing from the photos), Welski, Straight, Gobbo and Squidge for a DnB re-union of sorts. Good to see everyone again after such a long time!

West Ham v Chelsea

Went to West Ham with Fi and Grae. Weather was very nice, even if the game and the result weren't that good. West Ham even managed to miss a penalty which you can see at the bottom in its full widescreen HD glory!

Simon's funeral

A sad day today, Siv and I are travelling to Ely for our friend Simon's funeral. He died of leukaemia on March 25th, only in his early 40's, leaving behnd his 2 young daughters.

After a very nice Humanist service at Cambridge Crematorium, which was quite sad (though cheered up by some good music played during the ceremony, including Abba's 'Dancing Queen' for Simon's arrival), we all went back to The Cutter Inn, which is where Simon would probably want people to reminisce about him. Scarlett (left) and Francesca (right) were able to cheer everyone up with their naturally bubbly personalities.

We're going to miss you Simon!

A day out with Lev and Sarah at The Narrow

We had a day out with Lev and Sarah at the Gordon Ramsay run gastro-pub, The Narrow. We were very lucky with the weather, and it was nice to chat along the riverside in the sun, and have soeme very nice food (the slow roasted pork belly was a bive favourite). On the way home we popped into The Railway Tavern for a quick drink before getting our train home.

The healthy options for dessert....

On the bus, going home....

I predict a riot....

Just had a walk down to bank to see what's going on with the G20 protests....lots of people, Police and reporters. Bank has been totally blocked off now, with Police blocking anyone from getting near to the junction by the Bank of England...this was as close as I could get.

Trip to Valentine's Park

Some of Siv's family went home today. So the rest of us went for a short trip over to Valentine's Park, to feed the Squirrels, climb trees and see the newly restored mansion. While having an Ice Cream, we saw a small robin singing away in a tree.
