A large group of Hornchurch supporters travelled up to Enfield to see the dramatic 3-2 win, quite an evening out!

Day out at Hornchurch v Wingate and Finchley...and Elvis!

After starting the day with Pie and Mash at the new Robins shop in Romford, I went over to Hornchurch for the last home game of the season. Although it was a disappointing 1-2 loss to Wingate and Finchley, it was a good day out as there were end of season presentations to players and to our old German teacher Mr Stainer who has been supporting Hornchurch for 75 years!!
After that there was entertainment from a singer who did one set as Elvis and a second set as Neil Diamond!

Regent's Canal walk with Nina

We took the day off to take Nina for our walk along the Regent's Canal from Islington back to Stratford. We stopped at our usual haunts (Black sheep coffee, The Hub in Victoria, Broadway market, and The White Posts), before getting busses back to Wanstead where we had some food and drinks in The George before coming home.

Sunday walk through Manor Park and Wanstead Park

On Easter Sunday we headed for breakfast in Manor Park at Ramble Cafe E7 (what was called Tromso E7), only to find it closed for the whole Easter weekend! Luckily their neighbour, Tracks was open where we had a great bacon brioche bun and coffee. We walked back through Manor Park cemetery to Wanstead Park before having some tea and cake on the way home.

Good Friday walk and Hornchurch v Brightlingsea Regent

On a warm and Sunny Good Friday we took a walk into Wanstead for breakfast at City Place. After that we went for a walk in the park passing through the Bluebells in Chalet wood. Later that afternoon, I headed to Hornchurch to see the 3-0 win over Brighlingsea Regent.
Later that evening sitting in the conservatory it was good to see the bat back in the garden doing its evening rounds for the first time this year.

Dinner out at Bread Street kitchen

We had the guys over from our Singapore office this week, so a dinner was organised at The Bread Street Kitchen which was very nice as we had a private room.

Sunday, March 20, 2022

We've hired a skip to clear out some rubbish in the garden, and managed to cut the lawn for the first time this year today. All the while a Robin was keeping his eye on what we were up to and singing away.

West Ham v Sevilla Europa League match

Due to someone dropping out, I managed to get a ticket for the West Ham v Sevilla second leg of the Europa League qualifier. I started off 'up in the gods' but was able to move forward as one of the others spotted an empty seat near them. Quite a night out!

Day out at Hornchurch Football and The Undertones in Camden

I had a day out today, starting with lunch of Pie and Mash in Robins in Romford. After which I got the bus to the Upminster Tap to meet the others before going to Hornchurch to see them lose 2-1 to Enfield. After this a group of use went to Camden's Electric Ballroom to see Hugh Cornwell and The Undertones, where we stood next to Stuart Pearce (before I headed into the mosh pit for the finale!). After a couple of beers in the Camden Eye afterwards, we headed home after a long day out! A few photos are below, some more photos and videos are here:

Bit of a Spring day at last

Today felt like a bit of a Spring day with a lot of bird activity in the garden, and it stayed nice enough for a walk over the Aldborough Hall Nature Reserve.
