A large flock of Goldfinches arrived in the garden today, feeding their youngsters with the Niger seeds we put out for them

 

Trip to Putney to see Franky, Caroline and Barry

Today we set off for Putney to meet Franky, Caroline and Barry (Scarley was in Stockholm for the weekend!). As Franky was dog sitting at a neighbours we took the dogs for a walk, passing through Barnes Old Cemetery. After getting back we went for a curry at Chook Chook before heading home.

 

Walk to Ilford for shopping

We walked to Ilford for a bit of shopping and doged the rain showers on the way home by stopping for coffee and cake at The Gardener's Cottage Cafe and sheltering under the sun umbrellas!

 

Trip to Leigh for Graebags' 60th Birthday

We took th bus and train down to Leigh on Sea, where a group of us got together outside the Peterboat for Graebags' 60th. A very pleasant afternoon, though with the weather turning a bit threatening, we moved inside to The Smack Inn. On the way home we stopped off for chicken and chips.

Bat in the garden

It's been nice this summer to see our bat doing it's nightly rounds again catching whatever bugs it finds in the air above our garden.

 

Trip to Whitstable and Herne Bay

We took a trip down to Whitstable on a sunny (if blustery day) for a walk along the coast. We started off with breakfast in Thirstlove Cafe, before setting off on the one and a half hours walk to Herne Bay, which was a very pleasant walk in the sun. On arrival in Herne Bay we had a coffee and teacake on the pier before walking back to Whitstable. We wandered around around there having a drink at the Lobster Shack, before driving back to Herne Bay to have fish and chips on the pier. A few photos from the day are below, the rest are here:

Walk over Fairlop on a sunny evening

As we've finally had a couple of warmer evenings, we went for a walk up to Fairlop and round the lakes this evening.

 

Hornchurch v Margate match

I managed to fit in my first Hornchurch game of the season with the 4-1 win over Margate today. A fun evening out.

 

Walk over Wanstead Park

We had a very nice walk over Wanstead Park today, stopping for an ice cream, before heading back to Wanstead for a coffee in City Place.

 

We went for a walk over Valentine's Park, stopping for lunch at The Gardener's Cottage Cafe. In the evening we headed down to McCafferty's for some food and music with Liv.

Week in Elnesvågen for Arnfrid's 80th Birthday

We're just back from a week in Norway, doing some gardening and stuff while we could. Thee first day or so was fine so we were able to cut the grass and sort the robomower out, after that it turned a bit nastier meaning there wasn't so much we could do. But we still managed to get out a bit and celebrated Arnfrid's 80th with a dinner at Piacere in Eide. We also had a garden visit from some deer, a photo of which got me in the local newpaper.
