Walk over Valentine's Park

The weather improved a bit for the day so we managed to go for a walk over Valentine's Park for a coffee and take in the Autumn colours.

 

Fi and Grae's 25th Wedding Anniversary

We headed down to Southend to go to Fi and Grae's 25th Wedding Anniversary party. We stayed the night at The Camelia Hotel, just a short walk from Ocean Beach restaurant where the party was held, with entertainment from Scam69! A fun night was had by everyone. As it was 5th November, we were able to watch the Southend Fireworks display (from a distance) as well.

 

Holiday in Philadelphia and Sarasota

We're just back from a couple of weeks in America. The first part was a long weekend in Philadelphia staying at Kevin's house catching up with Rick, Liz and all the family. On the Friday we had a very nice dinner in La Porta, while on Saturday we watched Brian play baseball (where I was first base coach for one innings!) before a family barbecue back at Kevin's. On Sunday we headed over to see Ron and Anne, before heading to Megan and Pete's to watch the Phillies get through to the World Series!

On Monday morning we flew down to Tampa and drove on to Sarasota where we spent 10 days enjoying some great weather. A very relaxing time which went all too quickly. We spent the days doing the usual walks on the beach, breakfast at Madison Avenue Cafe and sitting on the beach in the afternoons (often followed by a dip in the pool at home), as well as meeting up for lunch with Lynette and Abby at O'Learys.

The journey home was a bit stressful having plane problems at Tampa meant we arrived too late in Miami to get home that evening and ended up spending a few hours in the Marriot hotel before flying to New York and coming home from there! A few photos are below, the rest are here:
