It was another sunny day so we went for breakfast in City Place in Wanstead, before a walk through Wanstead Park, back to Valentine's Park where we stopped for a coffee at the Cottage Garden Cafe before coming home.
It was an almost spring like day today, so we took a train up to Islington and had breakfast (Norwegian Waffles) in Black Sheep Coffee. After which we went for a walk along The Regent's Canal, as well as wandering through Broadway Market. We stopped off for a coffee at The Hub in Victoria Park and a drink at The White Post before catching a couple of buses home. A few photos are below, the rest are here:
We're back from a weekend away with a large crowd to Aldeburgh in Suffolk. After our much delayed Easter 2020 trip was cancelled a few weeks ago, we quickly booked something up. A number of people staying in a house, while Siv and I stayed in The White Lion Hotel.
Thursday night after we arrived was spent having a dinner and some drinks. On Friday Siv and I were able to get out to the Two Magpies Bakery for a coffee and a croissant before storm Eunice arrived causing us all to stay in. The storm knocked out the power for about 5 hours, and just as we were wondering how/what we would have for dinner, Sally's son Charles called and said he was in Saxmundham and they had power! So he went to a local fish and chip shop and ordered food and drove it over to us, so we had Fish and Chips by candlelight.
By Saturday, the power was back so we went for a walk to The Dolphin pub in Thorpeness...just in time as the skies then opened! Fi drove us back and we relaxed until an early dinner in Seaspice Indian restaurant, before heading back to the house for a few more drinks. Sunday was spent going for a walk to the scallop before trying to find a cafe that could serve 8 people (impossible, so we got takeaway coffees and croissants from the Two Magpies)! After which, with the rain closing in again, we headed off home.
