For our last day out, we stayed more local. Jumping on a tube to Stratford and the Olympic Park before walking through to the Capital Ring path along the River Lea. We stopped for a coffee at the Milk Float before heading Northwards towards Hackney Marshes. After turning back, we were hoping to have lunch on the river, but everywhere was a bit busy. So instead we headed off along another part of the Lea and walked through Victoria Park for a very nice lunch at The Hub. We walked back through the cycling area of the Olympic Park back to Leyton before getting a tube home.
As today was the best day weather wise, we headed down to Bexhill-on-Sea for a walk along the sea front. While it did cloud up, at least it stayed dry. We started with a coffee and croissant at The Colonnade, and after a walk to St. Leonards, we had Halloumi burgers at The Oceanside cafe. Driving home, we decided to avoid the motorways and saw this impressive view of Aylesford.
We had a few days off this week. Today we went for a walk over Wanstead Park, and a walk through the bluebells before carrying on to Wanstead Flats and heading to Tromsø E7 for lunch. During the walk back via Manor Park cemetery we spotted the grave of John Clinton, and it's related tale.
With the lockdown continuing, we've not really been able to travel much, so here's some photos from the walks we've been doing at the weekends over Valentine's Park, and a new favourite - Wanstead Park. The weather has been mainly cold with the odd warm day, but at least it's been mainly dry (helping Siv recover from the broken arm she got slipping over during the snow!).
