Walk back to Borth

After the trip to Colourscape, we walked back to Borth, taking a country route via Borth Bog. It was a sunny warm afternoon, and a very nice route back.

Colourscape

We took a trip over to Colourscape, with the owners telling us the 22 room one we went into is dwarfed by the over 100 room one they have on Clapham Common in September. The colour was so intense, it was hard to focus sometimes.

 

Walk around Nant-yr-Arian

We took a trip onto Nant-yr-Arian after the silver mine, where we walked round and spotted some red kites in the air. From the top, there's a fantastic view down the valley.

The Silver Mountaion Experience

On Saturday, we headed off to the Silver Mountain Experience. An old silver mine that you can tour, and take part in a guided tour by two 'orcs' who take you deep into the mine where it soon becomes a bit of a ghost train ride. We all enjoyed ourselves with lots of screaming and shouting in the dark....sadly photography isn't permitted, so you'll have to take my word for it we all jumped a few times....except Eric!!

Afterwards we did a bit of silver panning where Trude found a VERY small bit!

Trip to Borth

We've just got back from a trip to see Trudie, Mike, Joe and Eric in Borth. It was a very relaxing weekend taking in the sea air, visiting the local pubs (The Railway, The Victoria Inn, The Friendship Inn). Mike's brother Steve and his friend Liam were also there, making it quite a crowd of us. Despite a dreadful Bank Holiday weather forecast, the weather was OK, and very nice on the Sunday.

Trip to Ely to see Caroline and the girls

We took a trip to Ely to see Caroline and the girls for the day, only to find there's now a man in the house - Justin the British Shorthair cat! It was a very hot day, so we spent a lot of the afternoon and early evening in the shade of a tree in the garden.
