Weekend in Norfolk - The Swan in Beccles

On Saturday evening we got a taxi into Beccles, to go for a very nice dinner at The Swan, a very cosy restaurant where I had the Black and White Tuscan Bean soup which was served in a UFO-like bowl!

Weekend in Norfolk - The Artichoke

On Saturday lunchtime we went to The Artichoke in Brome, for a very nice lunch (the ham, egg and chips was a hit!). Lev and I sampled the Adnams Oyster Stout and Mild, excellently kept! Sitting in front of the open fire you could easily while away the afternoon.

Weekend in Norfolk with Lev and Sarah

We spent last weekend with Lev and Sarah up in Kirby Cane. As you can see a lot of tea was drunk! We also managed to get out for a for a walk on Saturday in the bracing Norfolk air!

A walk in Epping Forest

On Sunday morning, PJ came round to pick up Roger so they could go off on a long cycle trip back to Southend (after a few running repairs to Paul's bike, which Roger was using). Some of the rest of us then went for a walk up into Epping Forest, where the boys had great fun running around with sticks and climbing trees!

Dinner at Paul and Anne's

We went to Paul and Anne's for dinner to try out their new kitchen with Fi, Grae and Harvey as well as Bernie, Roger and the boys. Everyone had a very enjoyable evening.

Jay in the garden

Today we had a new visitor in the garden, a Jay, which was unusual as they usually don't like being out in the open. We've found out that in Norway they're called a Nøtteskrike or literally a 'nut screamer' given the noise they make and their fondness for nuts!

Trip to Oslo for work

I've been in Oslo for a couple of days for work. While it was chilly, at least it was nice and sunny! I managed to take a few photos of the City and around Aker Brygge, as well as a short video of my room at the quirky Thon Panorama hotel.

Trip to Norway - Molde

We then moved on to Molde for more celebrations there. Siv had a girlie night and invited all her friends round on the Wednesday night. We also got a lot of snow as well while we were there, which added to the Xmas atmosphere. On Friday and Saturday we had proper Xmas dinner with all the trimmings, before giving out the much delayed Xmas presents!

Trip to Norway - Oslo

Siv and I have just got back from a week in Norway, where we had delayed Xmas celebrations with all the family, as the December snow meant we were stuck in London. The first part of the week was spent in Oslo, staying at Siv's Dad's place, a lot of time playing with Lucy and Vesla! On Saturday, we all went round to Ingvild and Jose's for an Xmas dinner. Hedda was there of course having a great time. After the dinner we all handed out our Xmas presents.
