Holiday 2010 - Kath and John

On our last night, Kath and John from Rochdale came over for a chat, before we said goodbye, as we were heading off to Philly. We'd had a good time with them, going to Caragiulos the previous night.

Holiday 2010 - The legend who is Lloyd!

While we were on the beach, we were able to catch up with Lloyd, and his many stories. He managed to catch out all of us (including Kath, John and Mary and 'Sybil') as well about a thief who had stolen a gold bar....it turned out to be an old photo of none other than Lloyd himself!

Holiday 2010 - In the Sea

As usual, we've spent quite a bit of time in the Sea, as its so warm, and refreshing to get away from the heat of the beach. The Noodles and ring were popular, even with Kath!

Holiday 2010 - On Lido Beach

As usual, we've spent quite a lot of time on the beach! The weather has been good all holiday, and hot!

Holiday 2010 - Shopping!

As usual, we've been going round a number of shops, such as the HUGE, Target and Wal-Mart stores in the neighbourhood. We've also been having a few coffees around, and while sitting outside we spotted this fancy Chevy SSR in yellow at the bottom.

Holiday 2010 - Boca Grande

We took a trip down to Boca Grande today, a very quiet little coastal town with some old fashioned light houses along the coast.

Holiday 2010 - Ted Peter's

Also while in Sarasota, we also took the chance to visit Ted Peter's again for some of their delicious smoked salmon. The drive there and back is across the grand Sunshine Skyway.

Holiday 2010 - Anna Maria Island

While we were staying in Sarasota, we took the chance to make a trip back out to the City Pier restaurant on Anna Maria Island. Lovely food as ever.

Holiday 2010 - Turtle on the Beach

One morning during our morning walk, we bumped into a girl from the Mote Marine Aquarium who was examining a Turtle nest that hadn't hatched. Sadly the heavy rains in August seemed to have ruined it. However this one little fellow HAD survived, and while I helped count the number of eggs in the nest, Siv got to pick up the baby turtle to stop ants crawling all over him. A once in a lifetime experience for us.

Holiday 2010 - Beach walks

Every morning we've been getting up early to go for a long walk along Lido Beach (usually stopping off at Starbucks in St. Armand's Circle for a coffee on the way back). We were often up while the moon was still up!

Holiday 2010 - On the way to the Hotel

We're on our way on holiday to Sarasota and Philadelphia! Here's Siv at Charlotte airport with a new pair of reading glasses. Under that is a view of the interior of the Helmsley Sandcastle, and finally a view of the 'armour' we'll be needing on the beach!

Jeanine and the kids in Sea Isle City

Got these two lovely photos of Jeanine and the kids from Rick, taken during their week's holiday in Sea Isle City recently. How the kids are growing!

Relaxing Sunday...

On Sunday, we relaxed in the garden, as it was a bright if slightly chilly morning. After breakfast we headed out to Valentine's Park for a walk, and a coffee and cake in the kitchen garden cafe. We came home for lunch (and Daisy got some too!) before sadly saying goodbye to them all.

Caroline and the girls visited us this weekend. On Saturday evening, we all had a meal indoors, and some cake to celebrate Siv, Francesca and Caroline's birthdays which are all coming up soon. Daisy was very pleased to get some leftover pasta!
