I drove to Colchester to see Hornchurch in the Essex Senior Cup Final against Canvey. A poor game made worse by letting in an equaliser in the 92 minute, then losing on penalties!
The I.T. team at DNB went out for a farewell dinner for me and Carol at The Flat Iron in Spitalfields, before heading on for a few drinks at The Duke of Wellington.
DNB held a retirement party for me and Carol in the Dog and Duck. A fun night with a good turn out and lots of drinks! A few photos are below, the rest are here:
On another sunny warm day (for March), we caught the tube to Marble Arch. We then walked up through Marylebone before going onto the Regent's Canal, taking time to walk through the Lisson Grove Moorings. We carried on through Camden to have lunch at O Tino. Heading on from there, we went to Camden Road to get the Overground to Hackney Central. From there we headed home through Victoria Park and Mile End Park, stopping for a quick drink in The Palm Tree.
On a warm sunny day we caught the tube to Wanstead and walked home through Wanstead Park and Valentine's Park, stopping for coffee and a cake at the Grdener's Cottage Cafe.
As Carol and myself are retiring at the end of the month, we had a department dinner out. We had a couple of drinks in The Town of Ramsgate, before heading on for a dinner in Smith's.
With Siv safely home from Norway, we went for a walk on a sunny morning retracing some of my steps from yesterday. We stopped for a first coffee in Hackney Wick at HWK. We then moved on to Hackney village and via London Fields to Broadway Market to buy lunch inL’eau à La Bouche and ate it by the Regent's Canal. We walked back through Victoria Park and watched a bit of a frisbee match before having a quick drink in The Palm Tree, before heading to Mile End station and home.
